Hooray! I have written enough Yuletide that I will not default! (It's not *done,* but it's both long enough and story-arc-finished enough that I could turn it in without poor conscience.)

I'm vaguely thinking of writing a treat or two, to karmically repay the universe for a) the three fics I got my first year and b) defaulting last year. We'll see how it goes.

Now would be a good time to let me know if you're familiar with any of the canons I nominated and would have time to beta, say, over the weekend. You know. Just in case.

How are y'all doing with Yuletide and other end-of-year exchanges? Now I just have to get started on my Fringe story. At least a) I'm caught up on canon and b) I have until Dec 27...

Congratulations on your Yuletide fic!

I'm so close to done that I can taste it. I just can't figure out how to wrap it up. I'm thinking of trying to find a beta reader who can take a look at what I've got already and maybe make some suggestions.

Unfortunately, I think this story requires canon knowledge-- It's a couple of characters discussing the loose ends left by canon and each expecting the other to do something about them. If it didn't, I'd totally take you up on the offer. I could use a second mind poking at this one.

I'm thinking to ask on the irc chat later in the day when there are more people active.

I am so impressed by people who write longfic for Yuletide! I certainly *can* write longfic, but I've never pulled it off for an exchange. Something to do with taking other people's prompts, maybe? In any case, I'm just glad I'm almost finished--I defaulted last year, and I wouldn't want to do it again.

I just write the size of story that occurs to me, and I rarely think of short-sized story shapes. I wish I could! The few times I did, I had much less fraught yuletides.
