Seen around: Post the names of all the files in your WIP folder, regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous.

And I'm going to alter this, because I can. First, my WIPs are all in various folders based on what they are: Caseyverse is kept separate from regular XF fic is kept separate from superlong things (MoF, etc). Second, I'm unclear if this is meant to be file titles or story titles (and the two are not necessarily the same for me), so I'll put both. Third, I'm fairly sure I've seen a version of this that includes quotes from what's written, so I'm doing that, because I feel like it.

In the Caseyverse folder:

File name: rabbit heart.rtf. Story name: Raise It Up. Angst-tastic AU fic (how could I even have an AU fic for my own damn universe?) which takes its title(s) from this song.

Scully watched her in the rear view mirror.  "What's your confirmation name?"

"Jeanne.  D'Arc, obviously.  I was feeling dramatic.  And briefly Francophilic.  What's hers?"

"Teresa.  Teresa of Avilon, I think."

She laughed.  "Someone gave me an art history book."  Mulder grinned.

"What do you mean?" Scully asked.

"No way I'm fielding that one," Casey said.

File name: family togetherness.rtf. Story name: none yet. What was originally the second half of Her Son, which exists in the magic and perfect universe where the Van de Kamps and the Scully-Mulders work out all their issues and are a lovely and content strangely blended family separated by two thousand miles (and connected by Skype).

They finished off the rest of the case Mulder had bought the first night. ("Trust me," he'd said when she'd seen it before they left for the first of the family dinners; she'd turned to him, halfway through a loud argument between Bill and Charlie about something that had happened thirty years ago, while Maggie tried vainly to intervene, and muttered, "I trust you.")

And then, in its own folder, there's this one:

File name: astral projection.rtf Story name: Astral Projection (I know, creative). Was going to be my past Big Bang piece; was also the very first piece of fic I ever started working on, and I even have a couple of scenes of it on paper, that's how long ago I worked on it.

"Should I make you some dinner?" her mother asked, rubbing her back gently.

"Actually, Mom, I think I'd like to be alone," she said. She unbuttoned her suit jacket and stroked her belly, half-unconsciously.

"I'm not sure that's a good idea, Dana," her mother said, hesitantly.

Scully sighed. She reached into her purse and pulled out her gun. She checked the safety, and then removed the clip and held it out to her mother. "I'll be fine," she said.

Her mother looked properly chagrined, but took the clip.

Moral of the story: there is a lot of unfinished angst on my hard drive.
